Addis Ababa, Ethiopia is referred to as the "political capital of Africa" because many international political organizations are based in the city. For example, Addis Ababa is headquarters of the African Union, which is one of the most important political institutions in Africa. Furthermore, Australopithecus Africanus, also known as Lucy, is one of the first hominids found and is currently placed in the National Museum in Addis Ababa.
